Royal Enfield launched the Thunderbird 500X back in February 2018 and the bike grabbed many eyeballs due to its funky colour schemes. And now, to meet the road safety norms of the government, the bike maker has launched the ABS variant of the Thunderbird 500X.
The Thunderbird 500X has got many changes compared to the regular Thunderbird. The changes included different handlebars, long single seat, tubeless tyres wrapped around blacked out 9-spoke alloy wheels. The Thunderbird 500X is now equipped with a dual-channel ABS. Apart from the addition of ABS, the rest of the bike remains untouched.
Powering the Thunderbird 500X is a 499cc single cylinder, air-cooled engine which produces 27.2 BHP and 41.3 Nm of torque. The power unit comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Royal Enfield has priced the bike at Rs. 2.13 lakhs (ex-showroom). At this price, the Thunderbird 500X becomes the most expensive single-cylinder Royal Enfield which is on sale in India.
