Bengaluru-based Simple Energy launched its first product - Simple One electric scooter in the country a few days back. It is priced at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The bookings for the e-scooter commenced at a refundable amount of Rs 1947. Earlier today, the company revealed that it has received 30,000 bookings since launch.
Feature-wise, Simple One comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen instrument cluster with 4G & Bluetooth Connectivity, 12-inch wheels, 30-litre under-seat storage capacity, vehicle tracking, and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) among many others. Simple One electric scooter is offered in a total of four color options - Namma Red, Azure Blue, Grace White, and Brazen Black.
Performance-wise, the new electric scooter comes with a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery which is partially removable. The battery further generates a top power of 6.03 bhp and a peak torque of 72 Nm. Moving on, the scooter is capable of achieving a top speed of 105 kmph and can do a 0-40 kmph sprint in just 2.95 seconds. The e-scooter gets four riding modes - Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. Simple One can cover a range of 203 km on a single charge. Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic forks upfront and a mono-shock setup towards the rear. In terms of brakes, the scooter comes equipped with a 200mm disc in the front and a 180mm disc at the rear coupled with a combi-brake system.
The electric scooter can be charged up to 80 percent in 2.75 hours using a home charger. Simple Energy has introduced a Simple Loop charging network for home charging and public charging facilities. These fast-charging facilities will be deployed across the country. Moreover, Simple Energy targets 300+ charging stations in the coming months.
