The New Skoda Karoq was spied undisguised and unregistered on the public road ahead of its official launch. After its official debut at the Auto Expo 2020, the 5-seater crossover was spotted for the first time. Earlier it was caught on camera in the test mule format. Due to the ongoing Coronavirus Nationwide Lockdown, Skoda Auto India is likely to conduct a virtual launch on the 26th of May 2020. Along with Karoq, the company also plans to launch the updated BS6 Skoda Superb Facelift and Rapid 1.0 TSI. All three products were recently showcased at Delhi Auto Expo 2020.

The 2020 Skoda Karoq is based on Volkswagen’s MQB A0 platform. It will be imported to India via the CBU route. In dimensions, Skoda Karoq stands at 4382 mm in length, 1841 mm in width and has a wheelbase of 2638 mm. Cosmetically, the SUV features full-LED headlamps and taillights, dual-tone alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors.

Skoda has equipped Karoq with a host of interior features. These include a panoramic sunroof, virtual cockpit digital instrument cluster, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a dual-zone climate control. The cabin boasts of a 12-way electrically-adjustable driver’s seat. As for safety equipment list, the Karoq packs in nine airbags, MKB (Multi Collision Braking), ESC, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a parking camera. Skoda Karoq will be competing against the likes of Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tuscon.
Under the hood, the Skoda Karoq comes equipped with a 1.5 litre TSI four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, churning out 148 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. The engine comes mated to a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the front wheels. In the European market, Karoq is also available with an all-wheel-drive format.
