Skoda Kushaq 1.5L TSI Engine

The Kushaq is equipped with Volkswagen Group's globally acclaimed latest generation 1.5L TSI EVO series engine which comes with first-in-segment Active Cylinder Technology (ACT). For those asking, the ACT automatically switches off two cylinders when engine load is low and hence by accentuating the fuel efficiency. The cylinder blocks come with a plasma coating. This engine develops top power of 147 bhp between 5000-6000 rpm and peak torque of 250 Nm between 1600-3500 rpm. It is on offer with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. A buyer gets paddle shifters with the auto gearbox. It returns a best-in-segment mileage of 17.95 kmpl with the manual unit while the automatic variants deliver a fuel efficiency of 17.71 kmpl (Both the mileage figures are ARAI Certified).

Commenting on this, Mr. Zac Hollis, Brand Director, ŠKODA AUTO India said, "We are extremely thrilled to commence the deliveries of the 1.5L TSI KUSHAQ to customers. The fact that the 1.5L TSI engine can deliver 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque with a fuel efficiency of 17.95 kmpl is an incredible testament to the power of TSI and the technologically advanced ACT system. The KUSHAQ is a vehicle specially designed and Made in India. We are overwhelmed by the outstanding response to the car across India. I urge more and more customers to visit our showrooms and test drive the vehicle.’’ Underpinning the India-specific MQB AO IN architecture, Skoda Kushaq 1.5L TSI is available only in the top-end Style trim.
