Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo edition to get subtle exterior and interior changes

Skoda Auto launched the Kushaq this year in the Indian market. The Czech automaker plans to launch the Monte Carlo variant of the mid-size SUV anytime soon in the country. As of now, the Skoda Kushaq is offered in a total of three trims namely Active, Ambition, and Style. The Monte Carlo edition will sit on top of this lineup. It will come with several cosmetic changes.

In terms of features, the new edition will get a panoramic sunroof and a fully digital instrument cluster. Besides this, we can also expect the Monte Carlo edition of the Kushaq to get roof liner from the Slavia mid-size sedan. At present, the top-spec Style trim of the Kushaq did miss out on a few features that were offered by its rivals. But with the introduction of this new edition, Kushaq will become a complete package and will attract more buyers. Cosmetically, the Monte Carlo variant might get some sporty visual tweaks like the black contrasting roof, alloys, and ORVMs.

There will be no mechanical changes as such. The Kushaq comes with a choice of two petrol engines. The 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI unit churns out a top power of 113 bhp and a peak torque of 175 Nm. Transmission duty here is taken care of by a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. The 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI motor, on the other hand, dishes out 148 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. The engine here is linked to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
