Skoda Slavia had its world premiere last month in India. The all-new mid-sized sedan is expected to go on sale in March 2022 in the Indian market. However, ahead of the official launch, it has been spotted on a flatbed, indicating that it is a demo unit and getting dispatched to dealerships for public display. Skoda Slavia is going to replace the Rapid sedan in the company's portfolio while available in three variants namely Active, Ambition and Style in an expected price range of Rs 10-14 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, India).
Underpinning the MQB-A0-IN architecture as the Kushaq SUV, it will be offered in five color schemes: Crystal Blue, Reflex Silver, Tornado Red, Carbon Steel, and Candy White. The unit captured by our friends at MotorBeam seems to be flaunting the Crystal Blue shade. As far as dimensions are concerned, it is longer, wider and taller than the Rapid by 128 mm, 53 mm and 20 mm, respectively. The cabin reminds a lot of the Octavia with comfort features like a wireless charging pad, 8-inch digital instrument cluster, front ventilated seats, an electric sunroof, 2-spoke steering wheel and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. It will get 6-airbags as a safety feature.

Mechanically, Skoda Slavia will be available with two petrol engine options. There will be a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbocharged TSI engine with power output of 113 bhp and torque performance of 178 Nm. It can be availed with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. On the other hand, the top-end variants will also feature a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged mill which will develop maximum power of 148 bhp and highest torque of 250 Nm. It will be linked to a 6-speed manual unit as standard while a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission will also be offered as an option. The 1.5L TSI petrol engine will also boast of Skoda's cylinder deactivation technology.
