Amidst Coronavirus Pandemic automotive brands are moving towards digital medium for sale and purchase of vehicles for the Indian customers. Skoda Auto India is the latest one to announce online bookings. The epidemic had pushed forward the launch date of Skoda Superb Facelift. Now, customers can now book the New Skoda Superb on the Skoda Auto India's official website by paying an amount of Rs 50,000.
As of now, only Skoda Superb Facelift bookings have been opened but there is also hope of Karoq and Rapid TSI bookings to start soon. The 2020 Superb Facelift sedan will be offered in two variants: Laurin & Klement (L&K) and Sportline. Skoda Superb Facelift will be priced slightly higher than the BS4 Skoda Superb which had a price tag of Rs 26 lakhs (ex-showroom), India.
Skoda Superb Facelift was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020 with the expectations of launch by mid-2020. Superb facelift will be powered by a BS6 compliant petrol engine. The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine will generate 188 bhp of maximum power output and 320Nm of peak torque coupled to 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Czech Automobile manufacturer has discontinued the diesel engine which was offered with the outgoing Superb. Skoda intends to focus on petrol and mild-hybrid engines which could be the reason for doing away with the diesel engine in New Skoda Superb.
If we talk about the interiors, Skoda Superb Facelift comes with a virtual cockpit, wireless charging, new upholstery among other changes. There are a host of updates on the exterior like the addition of a revamped front bumper, refreshed front grille and chrome inserts. All-LED Matrix headlight system makes an appearance for the first time in the Superb and for that matter in was non-existent in any of the other Skoda models up until now. The Sportsline variant will come packed with additional features like OVRMs, blacked out grille and an all-black interior theme.
The 2020 Skoda Superb L&K variant will be coming with five paint schemes namely Lava Blue, Moon White, Business Grey, Magic Black and Magnetic Brown. The Sportline variant will be sold in 3 different colour options namely Steel Grey, Moon White and Race Blue. 2020 Skoda Superb Facelift would be competing against the Toyota Camry Hybrid in the Indian market.
