Volkswagen Group has finally held the world premiere of Skoda Vision IN today in New Delhi. It is the first company model to be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform and also the first product under the Group's India 2.0 project. Skoda Vision IN concept previews a mid-sized SUV which will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the Indian market. It will only be offered with a BS6 compliant petrol engine while the possibility of a CNG variant can't be ruled out either.
As the design sketches suggested, Skoda Vision IN flaunts bold exterior appearance. It’s styling cues have been taken from the Skoda Kamiq which is sold in several global markets. The SUV features the signature Skoda grille with chrome inserts along with split projecter headlamps and large air dams. It will have plastic cladding and roof rails as standard while riding on 19-inch alloy wheels. The rear end boasts of LED tail-lamp cluster which is reminiscent of crystals. The cabin will comprise of a layered dashboard while the other major elements are finished in orange paint scheme.
One of the major highlights of the cabin is the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system which compliments the the Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster fairly well. In addition, there is the flat-bottomed three-spoke steering wheel with audio and telephone controls. Other salient features include cruise control, voice command, lane assist, panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, ambient lighting etc. to name a few. Under the hood, Skoda Vision IN will feature a BS6 compliant 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a power output of 150bhp.
