Upcoming Vision IN crossover SUV would rival Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in India

Skoda Vision IN crossover was recently spotted testing on Indian road ahead of possible 2021 launch. First showcased as a Concept at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year in February, the Vision IN crossover is based on Volkswagen's MQB platform (Modular Transverse Matrix). Expect its unveiling to take place in the first quarter of next year with the launch possibly in mid-2021. Once launched, the Skoda Vision IN will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the Indian market. Moving on to the expected price, Skoda Vision IN crossover should come in the range of Rs 10 lakhs - Rs 16 lakhs (ex-showroom), India.

Thanks to our friends at Team-BHP, we have got our hands on a couple of spy-shots of the production-ready SUV. It was spotted testing on the Mumbai-Pune expressway. Design-wise, it will be identical to the Skoda Vision IN Concept and will share mechanical components with that off Volkswagen Taigun. Talking about the dimensions, the Concept model measured 4,256mm in length, 1,589mm in height and had a wheelbase of 2,671mm. Expect the production-ready crossover to be similar in size.

Overall, the test vehicle spotted here looks close to the production-ready model. Talking about the design in detail, it featured the signature Skoda grille surrounded by a pair of sleek headlights and dual trapezoidal fog lamps. At the rear, one can observe L-shaped taillights. Further, the SUV is equipped with roof rails and a shark fin-shaped antenna. Further, it is expected to come equipped with 5-spoke alloy wheels. Moving on to the cabin, it will boast of features like a virtual cockpit digital instrument cluster, flat-bottomed steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, LED ambient lighting, 12.3-inch digital infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, automatic climate control among many others.

Talking about the powertrains, it is likely that the Czech automaker could offer two pertrol options with this crossover. First would be a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol unit that will deliver 148 bhp of power output and 250 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties here will be taken care of by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. While the second could be a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The manufacturer might also offer a 6-speed torque converter with this vehicle.
