The last 50,000 units were recorded in the last nine months, and the 1 lakh sales mark was crossed in July 2016.

Since its release last year, the Baleno has taken the premium hatchback market by storm - it has already sold over 1 lakh units and it’s no surprise. The Ciaz sedan has equally impressive numbers and has sold almost the same amount, though it was released in October 2014.

The Baleno is the Nexa brand’s most popular product, despite several price hikes. It remains a popular sight on Indian roads. It has been averaging sales of nearly 9,500 units for the past 11 months, and has sold a total of 149,075 units until end-February 2017. Maruti has exported around 33,800 Baleno cars to global markets from India, a figure that might include 100 international markets such as Latin America, New Zealand, Australia and Suzuki's home ground, Japan. The car will soon be updated and launched as the Baleno RS, a car with faster tech and sleeker design. The sales numbers remain surprising as the waiting period for acquiring a Baleno is close to 4 to 6 months.

The Ciaz has been raking in some great numbers since its launch in October 2014, so crossing the 1,50,000-unit sales milestone was expected. The last 50,000 units were recorded in the last nine months, and the 1,00,000 unit sales mark was crossed in July 2016, 19 months after its launch. From launch until end-February 2017, the Ciaz has sold a total of 1,46,112 units. The diesel variant has shown to be of popular demand with sales of 84,764 units, while the petrol is at 61,348 units. It sells higher than any other car in its segment. It is now being sold via the premium Nexa dealership chain to give it an air of exclusivity.
