Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT Listed on Official Website: Launching Soon in India

BS6 Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT teased on the official website; draws styling inspiration from the BS4 model

Suzuki is planning to launch the BS6 version of its adventure tourer, the V-Strom 650 XT, in the country. The company has just teased the motorcycle on its official website. However, it is yet to reveal the mechanical specifications of the updated model. It is also being speculated that the BS6 version is likely to draw styling inspiration from its outgoing BS4 model. Suzuki has not revealed the pricing details yet. However, the adventure motorcycle is expected to be slightly pricier than its BS4 counterpart which was offered at a price of Rs 7.46 lakhs (ex-showroom). Once launched, the BS6 V-Strom 650 will compete against the likes of the Kawasaki Versys 650.


According to the teaser image, the BS6 model is likely to sport the same features as its BS4 counterpart. It will come with a semi-faired design featuring angular-shaped fuel-tank extensions, upswept exhaust, and spoked wheels. It will also feature an analog-digital instrument cluster, all-LED fitments for lighting, and an adjustable windscreen.


As for safety features, it will come equipped with dual - 310 mm discs up front and a 260 mm disc at the rear along with dual-channel ABS. Other things that are likely to be offered would include three-level traction control and Low RPM Assist for improved road handling. The suspension duties in all likely hood will be taken care by telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock unit towards the rear. Colour options on the motorcycle are expected to remain unchanged. BS6 Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT will be offered in Champion Yellow and Pearl White Glacier as paint options.


Mechanically, the BS6 Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT will source power from the same 645cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that was seen powering the BS4 model. The motor produced 71 bhp power and 62 Nm torque. However, with the BS6 update, there might be a marginal drop in terms of performance figures.

While working on the launch of BS6 V-Strom 650 XT, Suzuki alongside has delisted some of the other motorcycles from its official website. These include the names of  GSX R1000, GSX S750, V-Strom 1000, Hayabusa, and GSX S1000. The company might launch the updated version of these models in the next few months.
