Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition Launched in India

The Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is based on Volkswagen’s standard GT variants. The GT Edge Trail is the new version of India’s safest sports utility vehicles.

Volkswagen Cars has launched the Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition in India. The Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition was previewed in the country earlier this year. The Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition is priced at INR 16.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The new SUV will be available in three colors: Carbon Steel Grey, Reflex Silver, and Candy White. The GT Edge Trail is the new version of India’s safest sports utility vehicles. It is based on Volkswagen’s standard GT variants. The GT Edge Trail Edition is a segment of the GT limited collection incorporating volumes of the Taigun GT Trims and the Vitrus.

On the sides, the Taigun GT Edge contains graphics inspired by the standard trail variant. On the grille, the new SUV has a chrome accent. This new Trail edition comes with OVRMs with red accents, functional roof rails, black-colored accents on doors, and red-finish brake callipers.

Inside the cabin, the GT Edge Trail Edition gets cosmetic updates, including leather seat covers, 3D floor mats, TSS foot pedals, and Trail badging. The new GT SUV features a double dashcam and a 2-inch IPS LCD. The camera at the front is 140-degree wide, and it features impact sensors, loop recording, motion detection, picture capture, a parking monitor, and low-lux recording. The GT Edge Trail has puddle lamps and sporty foot pedals. Volkswagen Taigun GT Edge features wireless phone charging and connectivity, a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, a rear camera, automatic headlamps, automatic climate control, and TPMS.

The Taigun GT Edge Trail Edition stands on 16-inch black-colored alloy wheels. On the roof rails, there are ascending bars, and there’s a ‘Trail’ badge at the rear. The new GT Edge Trail Edition gets ‘infinity’ taillights and a contrast roof. The Edge Trail Edition comes equipped with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The engine churns out 148 bhp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated with a six-speed manual only. Direct-shift gearbox (DSG) will not be offered in this SUV.
