Tata is all set to showcase the production version of the 45X concept at the Geneva Motor Show

Tata Motors is all set to reveal the production version of their premium hatchback concept Tata 45X. The concept version made its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Indian carmaker has teased the naming of the hatchback which starts with the letter A and we expect the name of the production version will be called Tata Aquila.

The new premium hatchback from Tata will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Baleno and Honda Jazz. It is expected to launch in August this year. The Tata Aquila is likely to get a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with both manual and automatic transmission options.

Tata Motors is also considering to develop an all-electric version of the premium hatchback which will be launched after two years. The Indian carmaker offered Tata Vista and later Tata Bolt in the hatchback segment but both the cars couldn't get volumes to the carmaker. With the aggressive design of the upcoming product and new tech, we expect the Tata Aquila to make a big impact in the segment.
