Tata Harrier Dual Tone Spotted, Is The Brand Finally Offering the Option?

Tata Motors set the market abuzz with their latest compact SUV Harrier. The new Tata SUV comes with a very futuristic design which combined with the dimensions of the car lends it a very dominant road presence. The sales figures for the Harrier also go on to show the dominant position it has acquired in the market in such a short time. However, the things in the compact SUV segment are about to be shaken up with the launch of new rivals like the MG Hector and Kia Seltos.

Readers will remember that tweet of a customer of Harrier who got a dual tone roof job for their SUV and the response of the design head of Tata Motors – Pratap Bose – to the tweet. For the uninitiated, let us inform you that a customer got the dual tone job done at a 3M store and harnessing the power of social media, the customer then tweeted out the photo of the car and mentioned Tata Motors and Pratap Bose in the tweet. Needless to say the immaculate look of the Harrier SUV managed to gain quite a lot of traction on Twitter. Not only did the design head of Tata Motors gave a thumbs-up and replied “super cool!” to the tweet, the tweet also managed another response. The official twitter handle of Tata Motors was tagged in the tweet and it also replied to the tweet.

Now it seems that the brand has worked on the same and has brought out the dual tone version of Tata Harrier in the Indian market. Dual tone shades for Tata Harrier are being offered with Orcus White and the Calisto Copper options of the SUV. The dual tone option surely adds more character to the car and since the customers were taking the aftermarket route with the dual tone job, having an out of the showroom option will surely be more convenient for the prospective customers. However, a word of caution here as neither the brand has made any official announcement regarding the launch of the option nor has the price or variant details been announced. It is totally possible that a particular dealership may be offering the customisation option. However, the Calisto Copper variant spotted with dual tone scheme has sparked the rumor that it is likely that the brand has brought out the dual tone version of Harrier.

Talking about the Harrier itself, the new SUV comes only in a diesel variant with the customers getting a Fiat-sourced 2L MultiJet diesel engine under the hood. Renamed as KRYOTEC by Tata, the engine is rated for 140 PS and 350 Nm. The engine on Tata SUV currently comes equipped only with a 6-speed manual gearbox. A 6-speed torque converter unit sourced from Hyundai will be offered sometime this year as well.
