Tata Nexon EV Positive Sales Growth: Tata Nexon EV is the first made-in-India electric SUV. The homegrown automaker claims to have sold over 2200 units of Nexon EV in just 10 months of its launch. With the right pricing and features, Tata Nexon EV is the top-selling fully electric car in India. It’s a glowing illustration of Nexon unmatched popularity in the EV segment. 

Tata Nexon EV Current Pricing: Tata Nexon EV was launched at an introductory price of Rs 13.99 lakhs - Rs 15.99 lakhs (ex-showroom), India. It was given a price hike recently in the month of October 2020 with the base variant prices remaining the same. The top-end trims EV XZ+ and the XZ+ LUX prices  were increased by Rs 26,000. After taking into account the new prices, Tata Nexon EV remains the most affordable EV in the passenger car segment.

Tata Nexon EV Specifications: Tata Nexon EV is powered by a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The motor belts out 129 bhp of maximum power output and 245 Nm of peak torque. The power and torque figure here are comparable to its petrol and diesel-powered siblings. Transmission duties are handled by an automatic gearbox. Plus, the fully-electric SUV offers two driving modes namely Drive and Sport. Performance wise, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.9 seconds. 

Tata Nexon EV Range: Tata Motors claims that the Nexon EV delivers a range of 312 kms on a single full charge. The battery takes 8.5 hours to charge from 10 percent to 90 percent using a 15A socket. If the customer uses a fast-charger, then it will take just 1 hour for the battery to recharge from 0 percent to 80 percent. The battery further comes with an 8-year warranty. 

Tata Nexon EV Rivals in India: Tata Nexon EV direct competition is against more expensive models namely MG ZS EV (Rs 20.88 lakh -ex, showroom, India) and Hyundai Kona Electric SUV (Rs 23.75 lakhs (ex-showroom), India. It will face further competition in the EV segment when Mahindra eKUV 300 arrives in the Indian market later next year.
