Tata Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG can now be booked at a token amount ranging between Rs 5000 - Rs 20,000

Tata Motors is all set to launch the CNG version of Tiago and Tigor on January 19 in the country. The homegrown automaker had sent an official invite confirming the same. The launch will take place virtually on January 19 from 11:30 AM onwards. This will further the entry of Tata in the CNG passenger vehicle segment. Moreover, the brand has already commenced the bookings of the CNG duo a few days back at a token amount in the range of Rs 5000 - Rs 20000 in India.

Talking about the price, Tata Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG are likely to cost Rs 50,000 - Rs 60,000 more than the petrol versions of the same. Once launched in the Indian market, the Tiago CNG will rival the likes of Hyundai Santro CNG and Maruti Suzuki WagonR S-CNG. Tata Tigor CNG, on the other hand, will compete against the likes of Hyundai Aura CNG.

The upcoming CNG versions of Tiago and Tigor will not get any design updates in comparison to the standard version. However, we can expect a CNG badge on the boot. Besides these, Tata might also introduce the CNG kit in the top-end trim, most probably the XZ variant. Talking about the XZ trim of the Tiago CNG, it is speculated to get features like the projector headlamps, a rearview mirror, fog lamps, and a rear wiper. The cabin will boast of features like a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and automatic climate control.

Performance-wise, the CNG version will be based on the petrol offerings of Tiago and Tigor. Having said that, the Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG will come equipped with a 1.2-litre petrol engine. The motor in the standard version of the duo churns out 85 bhp power and 113 Nm peak torque. However, in the CNG version, the power output and torque delivery are likely to take a dip. Furthermore, Tata is likely to pair the CNG models with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
