Tata Motors will be launching the Tiago NRG facelift on August 4th in the country. Ahead of the official launch, the homegrown automaker has released a teaser video on its Twitter handle regarding the upcoming hatchback. As for the price, we can expect it to start from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata Tiago NRG was on sale in India from 2018 to 2021. However, the model was discontinued due to the introduction of the Tiago facelift in the Indian market last year. But now the hatchback is all set to make a comeback in its facelifted version.
Cosmetically, the updated Tata Tiago NRG will borrow several design bits from the Tata Tiago facelift. These include a sharper grille and headlamps. In addition, the hatch will feature a redesigned front and rear bumpers with faux skid plate, body cladding, and roof rails. These bits give the upcoming Tiago NRG facelift a more rugged look. The tailgate is expected to get black cladding along with the NRG badge. Besides these, the new Tata Tiago NRG will be sold in a total of four color options namely Forest Green, Cloudy Grey, Fire Red, and Snow White.
Moving inside the cabin of the upcoming Tiago NRG facelift, it is likely to come packed with a plethora of features. These will include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit integrated with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, Harman sound system, power windows & remote locking, automatic climate control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, and power-folding wing mirrors among many others. In terms of safety features, the hatchback will come equipped with dual airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, day-night rear-view mirror, and many more.
Performance-wise, the Tiago NRG facelift will use the same Revtron 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol unit that does duty on the Tiago facelift. The engine churns out a maximum power of 85 bhp and a peak torque of 113 Nm. Transmission duties will be taken care of by a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
