Automatic variants see increased demand, while the mid-level V and top Z+ trims are in high demand.

The third-gen Dzire is available in eight variants – LXi, LDi, VXi, VDi, ZXi, ZDi, ZXi+ and ZDi+. All versions spare for the LXi and LDi come with an optional AMT gearbox.

Dealers are now quoting a waiting period of around three months. The Dzire’s top-spec Z+ trim and the mid-spec V trims are receiving the most bookings.

The V trim comes fitted with a rear centre armrest, rear AC vents and steering-mounted controls for the audio system, while the top-spec Dzire Z+ is equipped with LED projector headlamps with daytime running lamps, a Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system and a rear parking camera.

Demand is higher for the five-speed manual gearbox but there is a steady rise in demand for the automatic variants as well. The lesser-equipped L variants are readily available in some locations.

The car is available in six colours - Arctic White, Oxford Blue and Magma Grey are the most in demand. Engine options include a 1.2-litre K-series petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel.
