Toyota has silently updated the entire range of Innova Crysta with a couple of new safety features.
Toyota India has silently updated the BS6 compliant Innova Crysta MPV with new safety features in the country. The company has now made Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) as standard features across the entire variant line-up of the MPV in the Indian market. Toyota Innova Crysta BS6 is priced between Rs 15.36-24.06 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) while it has got no direct challengers at the moment in the Indian market. It is offered in two versions: Standard and Touring Sport.
Despite the addition of these two features in the MPV, Toyota has not announced any price hike and retained the same pricing as earlier. The Innova Crysta MPV can be availed in two configurations: 7-seater and 8-seater. The bookings for the BS6 version started in January while the deliveries began by end of February across the nation. The updated BS6 model was nearly Rs 11,000-1.12 Lakhs more expensive than the BS4 variants. The company did not make any cosmetic changes to the MPV with all the features carried over the outgoing BS4 models. Being offered in four trim levels - ZX, VX, GX and G, it came with several premium features such as 4.2-inch TFT Multi Information Display, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, AC vents for the second and third row, and 20 bottle holders.
Mechanically, it is available in both petrol and diesek fuel trims. The diesel variants are powered by a BS6 compliant 2.4L 4-cylinder engine which is equipped with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). On the other hand, the 174bhp 2.8L engine has been discontinued post the BS6 emission norms implementation. The bigger and heavier 2.8L diesel engine was only available with an automatic gearbox while the 2.4L engine is offered with both the 5-speed manual and the 6-speed automatic transmission. The petrol variants draw power from a BS6 compliant 2.7L 4-cylinder engine which can be also availed with both manual and automatic gearboxes.
