The Camry Hybrid gets more features and is priced at ₹31.98 lakh.

Toyota has given its Honda Accord hybrid rivalling sedan, the Camry hybrid a minor update, however, the model’s price at ₹31.98 (ex-showroom, New Delhi) remains unchanged. With the update, the sedan gets more features like new LED fog lamps, new 15-spoke alloy wheels, a reverse camera monitor with corner sensors, a 12-speaker JBL audio system and a wireless smartphone charger (for Qi compatible models).

Also new on the Camry are nine SRS airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The car remains mechanically unchanged, and is still powered by a hybrid powertrain that comprises a 160hp 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol and 143hp electric motor. The two motors work in conjunction to put out a combined 205hp and send power to the front wheels via a CVT gearbox.

This powertrain allows the Camry Hybrid to accelerate from 0-100kph in 9.2sec, and the sedan can achieve a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.16kpl.

The Camry is locally assembled in India, and hence, qualifies for the government’s Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid and) Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme. This makes it significantly cheaper than the Honda Accord Hybrid, which is a full-import, and hence, doesn’t qualify for the same.
