Toyota Urban Cruiser prices are expected to be in the same range of Rs 7.50-11.50 Lakhs as Maruti Vitara Brezza.

Toyota India is readying its all-new offering, the Urban Cruiser, which is based on Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza for the Indian market. Now, reports have emerged that it could be launched in late July or early August 2020 in the country. Though, Toyota Urban Cruiser production will take place at Maruti Suzuki's factory on the same lines as the Vitara Brezza. In addition, the prices are also expected to be in the identical range of Rs 7.50-11.50 Lakhs but Toyota could offer a few more features and possibly a longer warranty period.

The Glanza was the first product to come out of the Maruti-Toyota partnership. It was similar to Baleno except for the different company badge. However, the Urban Cruiser will have far more changes than just the company badge. The prominent updates will be upfront in the form of relatively inexpensive softer parts such as plastic bumper and grille. The rear end will also be tweaked a bit in order to lend it a distinguished appearance as compared to the Maruti Vitara Brezza. Though, the headlamps and the tail-lamp cluster is likely to be the same. There are not going to be any changes in the metal sheet as even the alloy wheels will be carried forward from the Vitara Brezza.

The cabin would witness the majority of changes as Toyota will use a lighter upholstery color and new graphics as compared to the Brezza's grey theme. The reports have also indicated that Toyota Urban Cruiser will be first in its segment to come with hybrid technology with the manual variant. Hence, due to the Japanese automaker's globally renowned hybrid tech, it is expected to be more fuel efficient than the Vitara Brezza. Interestingly, Maruti Vitara Brezza automatic has a higher mileage of 18.76kmpl than the manual variant's 17.03kmpl. Both the manual and automatic variants, despite being equipped with Toyota's mild-hybrid technology, will not flaunt an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) badging at the outside.
