The stripped-down, retro-style version of Triumph’s Street Twin is priced at Rs 8.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The latest from the British bike maker is the Street Scrambler, a retro-naked version of the Street Twin that rivals Ducati’s Scrambler range. The Street Scrambler and the Street Twin share their 54hp 900cc parallel-twin engine. However the Street Scrambler’s Motor is tuned to make peak power at lower rpms.

Also common between the motorcycles is their suspension setup; they use the same 41mm KYB front fork along with adjustable, twin KYB shocks behind. Braking duties are handled by a single 310mm front disc clamped down by a floating Nissin two-piston caliper, while the rear gets a 255mm disc with floating two-piston caliper.

What makes the Street Scrambler stand out is its retro-naked styling. The 19-inche front wheel is bigger than the one on the Street Twin, the wheels are wire-spoke, and the foot-pegs are spiked, all of which should make the Street Scrambler better suited for riding over dirt-tracks.
