Triumph Motorcycles India has presented the Special Edition range of bikes in the country. The brand has launched Street Twin EC1 Special Edition, Rocket 3 R 221 Special Edition and Rocket 3 GT 221 Special Edition at price points of Rs 8.85 Lakhs, Rs 20.80 Lakhs and Rs 21.40 Lakhs (All the prices are Ex. Showroom, pan-India), respectively. The company has said that all the special edition models will be on sale for a limited period of one year in the Indian market. Triumph has also introduced the Gold Line Edition of six of its motorcycles in India.
Inspired by the custom-classic motorcycle culture of London’s East End, it is a tribute to a genuine British cultural movement. The bike flaunts new Matt Aluminum Silver and Matt Silver Ice fuel tank design with hand-painted silver coach lining, EC1 graphics and Triumph badge. The side panels are finished in a Matt Silver Ice color along with a new Street Twin Limited Edition graphic. The front and rear mudguards are offered in a Matt Aluminum Silver theme. An accessory Matt Silver Ice fly screen is also available. Other notable exterior features include black-colored 10-spoke wheels, LED rear light, black headlamp bowl, black-finished mirrors and black signature-shaped engine covers.
As for features, it comes equipped with ABS, switchable Traction Control and under-seat USB charger as standard. There are two riding modes on offer in the form of Rain & Road. The instrument cluster comprises of analogue speedometer and a digital rev counter. The Street Twin EC1 Special Edition is powered by a Euro 5 compliant 900cc Bonneville twin petrol engine which delivers power output of 64 bhp at 7500 rpm and torque performance of 80 Nm at 3800 rpm. Triumph is offering 120 genuine accessories with the EC1 Special Edition which come with a two-year unlimited mileage warranty, identical to the motorcycle. Triumph Street Twin was first launched in 2015.
To be available only for a year, it gets a distinctive new paint scheme where fuel tank and front mudguard are presented in a Red Hopper color while various other elements like mudguard brackets, headlight bowls, flyscreen, side panels, rear bodywork and radiator cowls come in a Sapphire Black shade. Furthermore, the bike boasts of bold and unique 221 knee pad graphics with subtle tank-top graphics. The Special Edition bike retains the signature styling elements such as the distinctive twin headlights, 3 header exhaust run and hidden folding pillion footrest. Sittin on an optimized aluminum chassis, the Rocket 3 R 221 Special Edition features internally wired roadster style handlebars while the Rocket 3 GT 221 Special Edition is equipped with touring handlebars.

The feature list includes twin LED headlights with Triumph signature shaped LED Daytime Running Lights, 20-spoke aluminum wheels, hill hold control, cruise control, keyless ignition and keyless steering lock, and an under-seat USB charging socket, 18-litres fuel tank, adjustable twin/single seat, cornering ABS & traction control, full-color TFTs with Bluetooth-enabled My Triumph connectivity system, GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation and phone and music operation. The GT model also gets heated grips as standard. The duo is powered by a 2458cc triple petrol engine which generates top power of 164 bhp at 6000 rpm and peak torque of 221 Nm at 4000 rpm while mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a torque-assist hydraulic clutch. Four riding modes are also there in the form of Road, Rain, Sport and Rider-configurable.
