VinFast has filed a design patent for its famous VF3 micro-electric SUV in India. The EV has a compact yet strong design.

The Vietnamese EV maker VinFast has filed a design patent for the VF3 micro electric SUV in India. The SUV was first revealed in Vietnam. Recently, the auto giant debuted the micro EV at the Consumer Electronics Show 2024, which was held in Las Vegas. As of now, the auto giant has not confirmed a launch date for the SUV.

The VF3 micro electric SUV has a compact yet strong design. It measures 1,679mm in width, 3,190mm in length, and 1,620mm in height. The EV comes with a distinctive look in the micro SUV segment with its tall and boxy posture, flared wheel arches, thick bumpers, and 2-door layout. The SUV features rectangular headlights that are placed within a blacked-out radiator grille. The VF3 stands on 16-inch glossy black steel wheels.

VinFast has not shared any details regarding the electric powertrain, but the VF3 is likely to provide a range of around 200 km on a single charge. The company offers this SUV in two variants: Plus and Eco; both of these trims come with a one-motor configuration.

The EV maker signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government just a few days ago. VinFast set foot in the Indian market with its first integrated EV manufacturing facility located in Tamil Nadu. The plant spans across 400 acres within the SIPCOT (State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu) industrial estate, and it represents a total investment of INR 4,165 crore ($500 million) for five years. The auto giant claims that the new facility will create 3,500 job opportunities and has a capacity of manufacturing 150,000 vehicles per year.

VinFast is also planning to establish a wide dealership network in India to build a robust brand presence and connect with local customers across the nation. In the Indian market, the auto giant is working to launch premium quality products, after-sales services, and competitive pricing to make EVs accessible to customers.
