Prices will be raised for all its models by up to ₹20,000.

The company has announced a price hike of all its cars up to ₹20,000, effective from January 2018.

The company has cited similar reasons as other carmakers who have also raised their prices. “The price increase is essential on account of several external economic factors as well as fluctuations in the global commodity price and local input cost, and is in line with industry,” said Steffen Knapp, the director for Volkswagen Passenger Cars India.

Skoda, Isuzu, Toyota and Tata Motors have also raised prices of their cars.
