Volkswagen T-Cross Revealed, India Bound

The T-Cross will be the smallest SUV of Volkswagen. It will come to India in 2020.

Volkswagen has released the photos of their new SUV. This is the smallest SUV of Volkswagen and it will be called T-Cross. Volkswagen will sell this SUV in two wheelbase options. The smaller wheelbase version is reserved for the European market, while the longer wheelbase version will be sold in South America, India, China and Brazil.

The T-Cross SUV will be made on the modified MQB A0 platform. The wide LED headlights accentuate with the front grille very neatly. The front grille gets many chrome bits and a chrome trim just below it touches the LED DRLs. The fog lamp housing is surrounded by chrome. The black body cladding all around the lower section of the car along with faux aluminium panel on the front and rear look very appealing. The horizontal lightbar along with LED taillamps complete the rear of the car.

The SUV comes with ambient interior lighting, panoramic sunroof, park assist, cruise control, a drive mode selector, a 10.2-inch display for the instrument cluster and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Indian-spec SUV gets six airbags, hill-hold, ABS and ESP but misses out on adaptive cruise control, automatic high beam, automatic braking system with pedestrian detection and a blind spot monitoring system.

There will be 3 engine options available with the T-Cross – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol unit will be available in two tunes a 94 BHP and a higher 114 BHP, a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol unit that churns out 147.5 BHP or a 1.6-litre diesel that produces 94 BHP. Volkswagen will bring this car to our shores in 2020. When launched this car will take on the likes of Nissan Kicks, Renault Captur, Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass.
