Volkswagen Launches Taigun and Virtus Highline Plus Variants; Prices Start at INR 13.88 Lakh

Volkswagen is offering the Taigun Highline Plus variants in both manual and automatic transmission options.

The leading car manufacturer Volkswagen has launched the Highline Plus variant of its subcompact SUVs, the Virtus and Taigun, in the Indian market. The Highline Plus variants were unveiled alongside the new GT-Line models. Both the Taigun and Virtus Highline Plus variants received feature enhancements over the standard models. In the brand’s lineup, the new Highline Plus variants are positioned above the outgoing Highline trims.

Virtus Highline Plus AT`          INR 14.98 Lakh

Taigun Highline Plus MT         INR 14.27 Lakh

Volkswagen Virtus Highline Plus

The company is offering the Virtus Highline Plus variant with both two- and three-pedal transmissions, priced at INR 14.98 lakh and INR 13.88 lakh, respectively. The Highline Plus model has slightly more upgraded features than the Highline model in both cars; the features include an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, interior rearview mirror, auto-dimming, button start offer, auto headlamp system, sunroof, follow me home headlamp, and rain-sensing wipers.

The Virtus Highline Plus is only available with a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine that is tuned to churn out 114 bhp of power and peak torque of 178 Nm. The unit is mated to a six-speed torque converter AT or a six-speed MT.

Volkswagen Taigun Highline Plus

Volkswagen is offering the Taigun Highline Plus variants with both manual and automatic transmission options. The Taigun Highline Plus AT is available at an ex-showroom price of INR 14.37 lakh, whereas the MT version is priced at INR 15.37 lakh (ex-showroom). Compared to the outgoing Highline variants, the new MT and AT versions are INR 54,000 and INR 89,000 more expensive.
