Volkswagen will be launching Taigun SUV anytime soon in the Indian market

Volkswagen India recently listed Taigun on its official website. This indicates that the launch of the SUV will take place anytime soon. Also, we can expect the deliveries of the SUV to start in the next few months in the Indian market. Furthermore, the Taigun SUV is the brand’s first product to be unveiled as a part of the India 2.0 project. It is based on the MQB A0 IN platform.

In terms of design, the new Taigun will flaunt a typical VW front fascia with clean lines. Upfront, it will feature a grille with two horizontal slats finished in chrome. In addition, it will also get LED headlamps integrated with LED DRLs. This further makes the SUV look like a compact version of Tiguan from the front. Talking about the rear end, it will flaunt LED tail-lights. Furthermore, the new Taigun SUV will also get premium design bits like 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a roof-mounted spoiler with a stop lamp, silver-finished roof rails, and faux skid plates at the front as well as rear.

Volkswagen will equip the upcoming Taigun SUV with a plethora of features along with the connected tech. These will include a large touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a fully-digital instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, and wireless charging.

Under the bonnet, the all-new Taigun will draw power from Volkswagen’s TSI range of petrol engines, which we have seen with the other VW models. We can expect the SUV to get a 1.5-litre petrol unit which is mated either to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Volkswagen India will position the new Taigun in the mid-size SUV segment. The new model will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Nissan Kicks Turbo.
