Volkswagen launches Polo GT Sport edition

The new model is expected to cost Rs 20,000 more than the standard GT.

Volkwagen will be releasing a limited Sport edition version of the Polo GT hatchback. The Sport edition will be available across both variants of the Polo GT at all Volkswagen dealerships in India. The limited-edition Polo GT Sport will be available across both petrol and diesel variants of its standard version.

The exterior of the car comes fitted with all new glossy black spoiler, a black roof foil, graphics running along the lower door panels and will run on 16-inch Portago alloy wheels. The interior updates include black leatherette-finished seat covers with GT embossing but other than that, the equipment provided will remain the same. The GT Sport is available in two colour options - Flash Red and Candy White. Power will be derived from the same 105hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that is paired with a seven-speed DSG gearbox and a 110hp and a 1.5-litre diesel paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. 

Speaking about the launch, Thierry Lespiaucq, Managing Director, Volkswagen Groups Sales India said, “Polo GT has been the first choice for buyers who seek strong power delivery and class leading efficiency both perfectly combined in a single carline. The GT badge has always instilled the pride of owing the best, and the Polo GT Sport edition takes it a notch higher further increasing the sport quotient of the vehicle. With this offering, we are providing our consumers with an option to choose a sportier variant of the most loved hatchback the Polo GT.”

The new model is expected to cost ₹20,000 more than the standard GT.
