Volkswagen Takes Wraps Off its New Polo GTI

The car is will go on sale internationally in 2018.

Based on the new sixth-generation Polo, the new GTI is powered by VW's new EA888 engine series. The car is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder direct injection turbo-petrol engine that puts out 197hp and 320Nm. The updated car can hit 100kph in a claimed 6.7sec. The engine is mated to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic (DSG). A six-speed manual is also in the
works.

The Polo GTI Features fully digital instruments for the first time ever. You also get driver assist systems like Front Assist with City Emergency Braking and Pedestrian Monitoring, Blind Spot Monitor, proactive occupant protection system and Automatic Post-Collision Braking System.

On the inside, the car is fitted with a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and a 300W sound system from Beats as standard. You also get a 8.0-inch touchscreen that comes with MirrorLink, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You also get Car-net application with access to Google media apps. You also get ‘sports running gear’ as standard – this includes special tuning of the springs, auxiliary springs, shock-absorbers and anti-roll bars. The car's body is also lowered by 15mm.
