VW boss Herbert Diess confirmed that the company will reveal its 2017 Touareg at the end of the year, with production touted to start in November.
Spy pics show us that the design of the car looks influenced by the Tiguan, and the larger Atlas. The car’s headlights are much sharper and more angular and the tail-lights also look slimmer.
The car will be more luxurious on the inside, with VW using higher-quality materials and it will even come with a larger infotainment screen. The car will feature a plug-in hybrid version as well that’s capable of a total output of 386hp and 700Nm of torque. This version can drive on full-electric mode for up to 80km. Alongside the hybrid version, conventional turbocharged four-cylinder diesel and petrol units will also be sold.
There’s no official debut date yet but we could see the Touareg revealed soon, with deliveries set for early next year.
