The New Jetta could share engines with the Tiguan SUV, so the car could be fitted with a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor, a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol in various states of tune and a 2.0-litre diesel engine.
Since the 2011 launch of the VW Jetta in India, until August 2017, the model has sold a total of 14,917 units. The new seventh-gen Jetta may not be produced for right-hand-drive markets like South Africa, India and the UK, which means VW may not have any plans to bring it here.
