We are back with our weekly dose of Auto shots for you! This week, there were a plethora of new product launches in the Indian market. Right from Triumph Street Triple R, Kawasaki Versys 650 BS6 to the Ford Freestyle Flair Edition. In addition to this, MG Motors released a teaser video of the Gloster SUV. Kia Motors India recently unveiled the highly-awaited Sonet SUV globally. The company will be launching the sub-compact SUV during the festive season. Furthermore, Kia has equipped the new Sonet with a host of first-in-segment features. These features include the largest-in-segment 10.25-inch connected panel type HD touchscreen with infotainment & navigation system, ventilated driver & co-passenger seats, Bose 7-speaker system with subwoofer, LED sound mood lamps, UVO connected car technology among others. Triumph Motorcycle India recently launched the 2020 Street Triple R at Rs 8.84 lakhs (Ex-Showroom). The bike can easily be booked from the company’s authorized dealerships across the country. Mechanically, the bike gets the BS6 compliant 765 cc engine that churns out 116 bhp power and 79 Nm torque. The braking duties are taken care of by Brembo M4.32 four-piston radial monobloc calipers at front and Brembo single-piston sliding calipers at the rear. Furthermore, the bike comes in three riding modes namely Road, Rain, and Sport. The rider can easily choose the riding modes from the LCD instrument cluster. Read More
Kawasaki India launched the BS6 compliant 2021 Versys 650 at an introductory price of Rs 6.79 lakhs (Ex-Showroom) in the country. The bike has been launched in a candy lime green color. Apart from the addition of a BS6 compliant engine and the price hike, there are no cosmetics changes in the motorcycle. The adventure tourer draws power from a BS6 compliant 649 cc parallel-twin engine. The engine bells out 68 bhp power and 64 Nm torque while being mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Ford India launched the Freestyle Flair Edition in the country. The petrol variant is priced at Rs 7.69 lakhs while the diesel variant is priced at Rs 8.79 lakhs (All Prices, Ex-Showroom). It will be available in three color options namely White Gold, Diamond White, and Smoke Grey. Being a top-end variant, the model gets a dual-tone red and black color scheme. Mechanically, it gets two engine options. A 1.2L TiVCT petrol that delivers 95 bhp power and 120 Nm torque. There is also a 1.5L TDCi engine that bells out 99 bhp power and 215 Nm torque. Renault India will launch the Duster 1.3L turbo petrol this month in the country. The upcoming Duster is all set to get a new 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine. With the introduction of this engine, Duster will become the most powerful SUV in its segment. Furthermore, this particular engine will deliver 156 bhp of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Also, it will come equipped with direct injection tech while mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox along with an X-Tronic CVT unit with manual mode as an option. This same engine powers the Nissan Kicks. But in this case, the engine delivers 153 bhp power and 254 Nm torque. Read More
Mahindra & Mahindra is expected to launch the BS6 Marazzo in the country anytime soon. Earlier in April, the company discontinued the model as it did not comply with the new BS6 emission norms. But now the updated MPV is all set to reach showrooms soon. Unofficial bookings have also been initiated at some of the dealerships at a token amount of Rs 25,000.
