New-Gen Mahindra Thar TVC was shot in Ladakh with the launch scheduled for October 2, 2020

New-Gen Mahindra Thar is one of the most anticipated arrivals in the Indian market. The official launch is scheduled for 2nd October, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The popular off-roader Thar made its first appearance in 2010 and it still continues to dominate the SUV market. The new SUV is designed to offer better off-road and regular driving experience for the buyers.

Mahindra Thar 2020 will compete against New Force Gurkha and upcoming Maruti Jimny. It will be sold in two variants - AX (Adventure Series) and LX (Lifestyle Series). Mahindra Thar price in India will likely be around Rs 10 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, India) for the base model with the top-end variant could easily breach Rs 15 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, India) mark easily.

Recently, Indian automaker released a video illustrating the supreme off-roading capabilities. We got access to some behind the scenes shots of the off-roader in Ladakh. There is no terrain environment other than Ladakh for displaying the vehicle’s capabilities. New Thar off-road capabilities are better than the preceding model with an improved suspension system, 650mm water wading capacity, 226 mm ground clearance and manual 4X4 transfer shift with low crawling ratio. Not just that, the tough and imposing SUV comes with a better approach, departure and ramp up angle.
