Ducati India has announced the launch of the 2021 Monster and Monster Plus on September 23 in the country. The pre-bookings for the Ducati duo has started at a token payment of Rs 1 Lakh. The
2021 Ducati Monster and 2021 Ducati Monster Plus will be launched digitally while the deliveries will commence soon. Both the bikes will be powered by the same 937cc engine. Ducati Monster will directly rival the likes of Kawasaki Z900 and Triumph Street Triple R in the Indian market while being expensive in terms of pricing as compared to its predecessor.
Sitting on a new aluminium chassis with a glass fibre reinforced polymer sub-frame, the 2021 Monster is lighter in weight by 18 kgs as compared to the preceding model as its dry weight stands at 166 kgs. As for features, it gets LED headlamp & tail-lamp, 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster, traction control, cornering ABS, ride-by-wire throttle and riding modes. "The new Monster has already witnessed a stupendous response in the global market, and this is especially true of young riders and enthusiasts. We're thrilled to bring the new Monster and Monster Plus to the Indian market, and let our riders experience the sportiest naked we've made for the middleweight segment," said Bipul Chandra, Managing Director, Ducati India.
The suspension duties are helmed by 43mm USD forks upfront while there is an adjustable mono-shock setup at the rear. The bike would ride on 17-inch alloy wheels which will be shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres with 120/70 and 180/55 sizes at front and rear, respectively. As for braking, the bike boasts of dual 320 mm discs at front while there is a single 245 mm disc at the rear. A dual-channel ABS is offered as a standard safety feature. Mechanically, the bike comes with a 937cc L-twin Testastretta petrol engine which churns out top power of 110 bhp at 9250 rpm and peak torque of 93 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed gearbox along with a bi-directional quick-shifter.
