The 2021 Ninja 400 takes design inspiration from its elder siblings. Upfront, it features a traditional Kawasaki split headlamp cluster with dual-LED headlights. The rear end boasts of LED tail-lights that are inspired by the ZX-10R. Furthermore, it gets LED turn indicators mounted on the fenders at the rear. Other design highlights include a stepped-up seat, a windscreen, and a sloping fuel-tank.
Mechanically, it draws power from a 399cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor. This engine churns out 49 bhp power at 10000rpm and 39Nm peak torque at 8000rpm. The unit is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. In terms of suspensions, the bike gets a 41mm hydraulic telescopic fork sourced from Kayaba upfront and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the rear end. The braking duties are taken care of by a 310 mm petal disc at the front and 220 mm petal disc at the rear along with a Nissan-sourced dual-channel ABS as standard.
