The third generation Swift debuted at the 2018 Auto Expo and the carmaker added a new top-spec, Z+ variant to the range. This variant is positioned above the Z variant that was earlier the top-end. The Z+ variant comes with a touchscreen infotainment system, a Reverse Parking Camera, Navigation, DRL Projector Headlamps with the 'follow me home' function and 15-inch alloy wheels, finished in dual-tone. You can now get the Swift in four variants – L, V, Z and Z+ – followed by the ‘Xi’ suffix for the petrol iteration and ‘Di’ suffix for the diesel.
Prices start at ₹4.99 lakh and go up to ₹8.29 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). There’s even a five-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) version available in the VXi / VDi and ZXi / ZDi variants. The same engines continue, so you can pick between an 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 75hp, 1.3-litre Fiat-sourced multi-jet diesel engine.
