The filing of the patent will help Bajaj Auto in securing the Chetak from design plagiarism and other unlawful acts. The European Union Intellectual Property Office is a one-stop destination for patent registrations regarding the EU trademark and industrial design rights. The organization is responsible for safeguarding the designs of various companies and individuals from being copied or reproduced. In simpler words, it provides power to the original holder of the design to use it exclusively and prevent any other organization or individual from using it without his/her permission. Hence, the filing of a patent for Bajaj Chetak will empower the company in Europe as now others will not be able to copy the design.
