BMW Motorrad has taken the wraps-off its latest electric scooter, CE 04. The new e-scooter seems to carry forward a similar design to its concept version that was unveiled back in 2020. It is expected to go on sale in the international market by 2022. As for the India launch, nothing as such has been revealed yet. Moving on, the new CE 04 is offered in two variants - Standard and Avant Garde Style.
Cosmetically, the BMW CE 04 is based on the Definition CE 04. Upfront, it features a compact apron. In addition, it gets large side panels and a lean tail section with a bench-like seat. BMW has equipped the CE 04 with a host of features. These include a 10.25-inch TFT digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, an automatic stability control system, all LED lighting, and USB-C charging port, ABS. Besides these, the e-scooter gets three riding modes - Eco, Road, and Rain. Features like dynamic traction control, dynamic riding modes, and cornering ABS are offered as an option.
The BMW CE 04 sits on a tubular steel frame. Suspension duties are taken care of by a 35mm telescopic fork upfront and a preload adjustable monoshock towards the rear attached to a single-sided swingarm. In terms of the brake, the e-scooter gets twin 265mm discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. Furthermore, the new e-scooter rides on 15-inch wheels shod with a 120-section tyre upfront and a 160-section tyre at the back. The new BMW electric scooter is sold in a total of two color options. The standard variant is available in light white colour with matt black sections. While the Avant Garde Style trim comes in a Magellan Grey metallic colour, with black/orange seat and an orange wind deflector.

Mechanically, the new CE 04 is powered by an 8.9 kWh lithium-ion battery connected to a permanent magnet motor. The electric motor generates a maximum power output of 42 bhp. It further offers a maximum range of 130 km on a single charge. The 8.9 kWh Li-ion battery lies inside the floorboard of CE 04. It can be charged from 0-100 percent in 4 hours and 20 minutes with the help of a 2.3 kW charger. While with a 6.9 kW fast charger, the time is brought down to an hour and 40 minutes. The new electric scooter can hit a top-speed of 120 kph.
