BMW has launched the smallest member of the M family, the M2 Competition in India. The M2 Competition will be available to us via a CBU route. The company has priced the car at Rs. 79.90 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The gloss black kidney grille, large air intakes, adaptive LED headlights and an M2 badge on the grille give a menacing look to the front of the car. The side silhouette of the coupe looks very muscular. At the rear, it gets an M rear spoiler and an M-Sport exhaust system with four tailpipes which are finished in black chrome.
The BMW M2 Competition has a range of options for the upholstery which includes Dakota Black leather with contrast blue and black or orange and black stitching. The Anthracite colour headliner along with gloss black finish with some pearl chrome highlight looks very prestigious. The black instrument cluster gets red coloured needles and a white backlight.
As standard fitment, the car gets BMW iDrive controller, 7-speakers with 205 Watts HiFi loudspeaker system, a 6.5-inch colour display with Bluetooth and USB connectivity and rear parking camera with Parking Distance Control (PDC). While some optional features include BMW iDrive with touch controller, 12-speakers with Harman Kardon music system, an 8.8-inch display with navigation, 3D maps, BMW Apps and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Apart from above, the BMW M2 Competition comes with airbags, ABS, dynamic stability control (DSC), active M differential, M Servotronic with three driving modes (Comfort, Sport and Sport+), electronically controlled flaps in the exhaust system, automatic start/stop function and brake energy regeneration system.
Powering the BMW M2 Competition is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six petrol engine that churns out 410 BHP and a tremendous peak torque of 550 Nm. The car can reach 100 km/hr from standstill in just 4.2 seconds and it has a top speed of 250 km/hr. The power to rear wheels is supplied through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The gears can be changed manually with the help of paddle shifters behind the M leather steering wheel.
