As we are in #Unlock2 mode from today, under the directive of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, economic activities have begun in full swing across the nation. This also includes the opening up of almost all of the dealerships, service stations and manufacturing units which stayed shut for nearly two and a half months since March. This has propelled automakers to launch their new cars which were planned for March/April but were delayed due to the nationwide lockdown. So here we will look at the cars launching in July 2020 in India:
Being originally scheduled to launch in March 2020, the new-gen City sedan would finally be launched in July, as stated by the company in a press statement. It will come with a plethora of styling updates, new features and updated BS6 compliant powertrains. Being dubbed as India's first Connected Car, the new-gen 2020 Honda City will debut several premium features such as Alexa remote capability, electric sunroof, Honda Connect telematics system with 32 connected car features, ambient lighting, push-button start/stop with keyless entry etc. to name a few. The new sedan will be powered by the twin 1.5L engines with petrol variants also getting a CVT auto gearbox. The 2020 new-gen Honda City bookings are open across all the company authorized dealerships in India.
MG Motor India is all set to expand its portfolio by introducing its second vehicle in the country in the form of Hector Plus MPV. To be launched in the first half of July 2020 in a 6-seater avatar with captain seats for the second row, MG Hector Plus production has already begun at the company's Halol facility in Gujarat while it will take on the likes of Mahindra Marazzo, Toyota Innova Crysta and Maruti Suzuki XL6. The engine options and features are expected to be borrowed from the Hector SUV while the price is expected to start from Rs 14 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). The dealer dispatch has begun and you can test drive the Hector Plus at the nearest MG dealership with deliveries starting in the next couple of weeks.
Honda Cars India has officially announced the launch of 2020 WRV facelift on July 2 in the country. Originally slated to launch in April, the 2020 Honda WRV facelift faced a delay of three months due to COVID-19 and finally will be launched tomorrow in the Indian market. The new crossover will flaunt a handful of cosmetic updates at the outside while gaining new features in the cabin, followed by a set of new BS6 compliant engines. The twin 1.5L engines, which do duty to the Amaze and City sedans, will be at the helm of affairs in the crossover. The 2020 Honda WRV facelift price will be in the range of Rs 8.30-11 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom) while it has no direct rival in the Indian market.
Mercedes Benz India is all set to launch its first electric vehicle in the country in July 2020. Martin Schwenk, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz India, on the sidelines of launch of GLS SUV at the end of June 2020, confirmed that the German luxury automaker's first electric car in India is just a couple of weeks away. Mercedes Benz EQC, having made its official debut in 2018, is powered by dual electric motors which generate a massive power of 402bhp and peak torque of 765Nm. The twin electric motors derive power from an 80 kW lithium-ion battery which gives the SUV a driving range of 450-471 kms on a single charge. For those asking, Mercedes Benz EQC price is expected to be around Rs 75 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
