Citroen India has confirmed the price surge of its entire vehicle range starting from January 2024. Among other players doing so, the French auto giant has joined the very race to surge prices of vehicles across the country starting New Year. The automaker has declared that they’re going to put up a price hike of up to 3% across its entire vehicle lineup offered to customers in the country. Citroen trades SUVs like the C3 and C5 Aircross besides its only hatchback C3 in India currently. The French car maker also sells off the electric eC3 hatchback in the country as well.

The company said that the price surge for its entire vehicle range will vary between 2.5% to 3% based upon the model and variant. The C3 hatchback which was launched in the summers of 2022 is till now one of the most inexpensive car models in the company's lineup across the country. The hatchback, which also has an electric iteration in eC3, is available at a starting price of INR 6.16 Lakh (ex-showroom). The minimum surge on the lowest variant of the C3 hatchback could mean that one will be required to pay an extra INR 15,400 to take the car home.

Citroen made its premiere in the country with the launch of C5 Aircross SUV back in the year 2021. The C3 Aircross SUV is the most recent vehicle from Citroen across the country which was launched in 2-seating arrangements in October 2023. The C3 Aircross rivals directly with Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate SUV, and Hyundai Creta and has a starting price of INR 9.99 Lakh (ex-showroom). The pricing for the same goes up to INR 11.99 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end model.

Citroen as of now hasn’t said anything in regards to what exactly is the reason behind this price surge across its entire model range. The French automaker issued a statement on Monday saying, “In response to various market factors and to maintain the quality and competitiveness of our products, we will increase the prices of all Citroen models, in January 024, by 2.5-3% of the ex-showroom prices across all models.” It might be that the French automaker has decided to surge prices to curb rising input costs.

After the recent increase, Citroen is anticipated to release the updated pricing list for all of its vehicles shortly.
