US automaker Ford announced launch of facelifted Fogo hatchback on 15 March.

Ford Aspire got an update in 2018, while Endeavour was updated in March 2019. Meanwhile all speculations of the release of an updated Figo have failed deadlines as the US giant has kept fans waiting. Just as the auto portals were about to give up on the speculations of the launch of Ford Figo’s facelift model, the company has now said that the hatchback’s facelifted version is set to launch on March 15.

With the release of the launch date, bookings of the new Figo have started all across the nation. With the booking amount being set at Rs. 10,000. The updated Figo has a grille reminiscent of the Aspire sedan, flanking the grille are new headlamps. The fog lamps are neatly located on the black insert that sits underneath the new bumper at the front. The wheels too have been upgraded, and the Figo now has sporty looking 15-inch black alloy wheels, these wheels will be available on the top models only. Although the facelifted model is already on sale in global markets for quite some time now.

As far as features are concerned, the facelifted Figo comes with rain-sense wipers, automatic headlamps, and climate control etc. There is a new dashboard and the center console too has changed. Talking of the dashboard, the facelifted Figo has a new 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SYNC3, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. All this changes are aimed at adding a more premium feel to the interiors of the hatchback.

Among the major changes witnessed on the car will be the introduction of a new petrol engine. Found on Freestyle as well, the new 1.2-litre Dragon series petrol engine is rated for 96 PS and 120 Nm. This engines is parried with a 5-speed manual gearbox. With mixed news regarding the availability of an automatic transmission present, there is a chance the new Figo could debut the 1.5-liter turbocharged Dragon series petrol engine rated for 123 PS-150 Nm. This could very well may be offered with a 6-speed CVT, however the details on this front remain scanty.

The diesel engine on the 2019 updated Ford Figo will see no major changes and the 1.5-litre unit (100 PS-215 Nm) will be offered with a 6-speed manual. Following the trend of CNG version of Aspire Sedan, Ford could bring a CNG version of new Figo as well, but this is expected to happen after a few months of launch. While a sportier S version might also be in the making, there is no confirmation on the same.
