Hyundai is all set to shake up the sub-4 meter compact SUV segment with their upcoming Venue launch. This will finally mark the entry of Hyundai in the increasingly popular sub-4 meter compact SUV segment. The company will present its latest sub-compact SUV at the New York Motor Show on 17 April, 2019. However, before the official unveiling of the SUV, some photos of the upcoming SUV have leaked on the internet. These photos were taken at Times Square, New York, USA where the advertisement for the upcoming SUV was being played on a large screen.
Hyundai is using the ‘For the urban adventurer’ line for the upcoming Venue SUV, which goes on to show that the Venue will be aimed mostly at urban customers. The compact dimensions paired with a lot of connected features also hint at the same. The leaked photos reveal that the South Korean maker is advertising the dual tone color scheme for the upcoming Venue SUV. The alloy wheels in the pics are the same ones that were spotted on test models in India. As the teaser of the Venue SUV released by Hyundai has already revealed, the design and the overall silhouette of the upcoming Venue looks a lot like Creta. However, the size is a major difference here, and difference can also be spotted in the way front and rear of the upcoming Venue have been designed that gives it a separate identity from Creta.
The upcoming Hyundai sub-4 meter compact SUV will come with the company’s signature design language and will borrow a lot from the Santa Fe in looks. The front end boasts of a new-age design where the LED DRLs take the place of the headlamps and the latter go into the bumper area. The sides will have a black colored cladding that will give the Venue a rugged look. The upcoming Hyundai Venue will also feature a sunroof, albeit in the top models only.
The company says that Venue’s ‘Smart Connect SUV’ tag will arm it with 33 features and among these, 10 have been developed especially for India and it will also feature the brand’s ‘BlueLink Connected Technology’. The upcoming Venue will also have an emergency feature, roadside assistance and panic notification. The entire ‘Smart Connect SUV’ feature will also enable the South Korean maker to equip upcoming Venue with geo-fencing, speed alert, and valet alert etc.
The South Korean maker will equip the Venue with three engine options, the first will be a 1L turbo petrol motor and the second could be the 1.4L diesel engine that is also seen on the Verna, and thje third could be a 1.2L petrol unit. Hyundai Venue will lock horns with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford Ecosport in the Indian market.
