The car will be revealed in January and will feature autonomous tech.

The company will show its Electric Sports Sedan concept at this year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

While there is no name yet, Infiniti's design boss Alfonso Albaisa confirmed the car will be a pure electric model and won’t be just an electrified version of an existing car.

"Our Detroit concept car heralds a new generation of Infiniti," said Albaisa, "a seamless and stunning new design philosophy demonstrating Infiniti artistry in the new age of autonomy and breakthrough drivetrains.” He also added that the car will use elements of Infiniti’s Prototype 9 concept from 2017’s Monterey car week.

The Executive Design Director, Karim Habib, said it will have “smarter, more compact and less intrusive powertrains.” The production version will go on sale in 2019 and will be built on an all-new platform.
