Isuzu D-Max GO2 is a vehicle for hardcore off-roading.
When the first images of Isuzu D-Max GO2 came online, it seemed a perfect vehicle for any apocalypse environment. Isuzu is creating ripples by developing D-Max GO2 a customized Utah based pick-up truck. You can drive the vehicle through the world’s harshest terrain, it would not look out of place in the Martian Terrain if someday Elon Musk decides to colonize it. Isuzu picked the Utah manual in Splash white as the base truck for this special build project. It’s named GO2 because it can go anywhere in the world where the terrain might scare off other vehicles.
By picking the registered vehicle, Isuzu showcased that anyone can do this to their pick-up vehicle. For starters, it's been given a full underguard kit to protect the engine and gearbox from rocks and other potentially damaging ground objects. D-Max GO2 has protection as standard but new underguard kit will have a differential guard. The front bumper is mounted forward and higher to make the vehicle suit angular terrain. For an enhanced off-road experience, Isuzu equips D-Max GO2 with a new suspension system called TrakRyder Extreme. The suspension is sourced from an England based firm named Pedders. TrakRyder Extreme suspension system is made up of two adjustable front coil overs and two rear leaf springs working alongside adjustable dampers. Isuzu has added off-road tyres which use 16-inch rims and 33” General Grabber X3 Mud Terrain tyres rather than the usual 18-inch rims found on the stock Utah manual.
The Sahara bar is where the front fog lights would normally be on a Utah. Fog lights aren’t necessarily important for off-roading, so Isuzu has equipped GO2 with a roof-mounted lazer light bar for better visibility. Isuzu hasn’t made any technical change to the 164 bhp four-cylinder engine itself but added water-evading property of a roof snorkel. The snorkel protects the engine from dust and water ingestion in harsh terrain while significantly increasing the vehicle’s wading depth.
For convenience, the Isuzu gives a keyless entry and a push-button start system. Utah manual already comes with leather upholstery and electrically adjustable driver’s seat so heavy-duty seat covers are fitted front and rear to protect from GO2 from getting muddy and dirty. Rubber trays have also been added to protect the floor and it comes with a leather steering wheel which is easy to clean.
GO2 is equipped with features like automatic air conditioning, a 7-inch multifunction colour touchscreen, satellite navigation, support for both Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity. Also, Isuzu added other features like DAB radio, eight speakers, front and rear USB ports for comfortable driving experience through the roads less taken.
