Jawa Perak Spotted Testing Once Again Post Lockdown

Bobber-style Jawa Perak was recently spotted testing on Mumbai-Pune Highway.

Jawa Perak was recently spotted doing test runs on the Mumbai-Pune highway post lockdown. The motorcycle has already been launched in India last year. The specifications have also been revealed. The test runs suggest that this is the final process before the deliveries of the motorcycle begin. According to a media report, one of the sources confirms that the motorcycle is yet to be homologated by ARAI. There are several dealerships that have kept Jawa Perak on display. Some of them are also offering the bike for test rides.

Jawa Motorcycles is owned by Classic Legends, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra had planned to commence the booking of Perak in January 2020. Further, the deliveries of the motorcycle were set to begin in April 2020. However, due to the COVID’19 lockdown protocol, the company had to postpone the schedule. Due to the Nationwide lockdown, the company’s Chinese supply chain had also been blocked.Under the frame, the BS6 Jawa Perak is powered by a 334cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder motor that will deliver 30 bhp power and 31 Nm torque. The motor is linked to a 6-speed gearbox. 

Jawa Motorcycles had already updated the Jawa Classic and Jawa Forty-Two to meet the BS6 norms. The prices of both models were revealed in March 2020. With Jawa Classic being priced at Rs 1.73 lakh and Jawa Forty-Two at Rs 1.60 lakh - both prices, (ex-showroom), the company has now listed the specifications of both models as well on their official website. The third product in the company’s portfolio- Jawa Perak was already a BS6 compliant when launched. It is priced at Rs 1.95 lakh (Ex-Showroom).
