Jeep Compass diesel variants recalled in India for software update

FCA India has recalled the Jeep Compass 2WD diesel variants in India for software update. Only the 2WD diesel variants of the compact SUV have been affected and the petrol and diesel 4WD variants are not affected in this recall. The customers with affected units of the Jeep Compass will be notified by the dealerships for the software update.

The recall has been announced for Jeep Compass 2WD diesel manufactured from December 18, 2017 to November 18, 2018. The American carmaker has announced to update the vehicles' PCM (Powertrain Control Module) software. According to the carmaker, this action is to correct product variations that may cause certain vehicles to exceed the regulatory threshold for particulate matter emissions.

Around 11,0002 units of the Jeep Compass have been affected in this recall. Owners can check with their dealers if their car is affected and this update of software will take around 15 minutes and will be done free of cost. FCA is planning to bring the Jeep Compass Trailhawk in the near future in India which will come with more features and better off-road capability.
