After-sales service is an important aspect a customer considers when they are out in the market to make a car purchase. Therefore, nearly all the brands in the market, emphasise on continuous improvements in their after-sales service. In a similar move, India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has now made changes to its doorstep service and has launched a refreshed version of the same under the name of 'Service on Wheels'. Under this service, Maruti Suzuki dispatches their trained staff to the location of the customer for servicing their products. This not only saves the customers a lot of time as far as vesting the service centre is concerned, it also gives the customers ease of picking a desired time of their choosing for the service jobs. With this service, Maruti will also ensure that its customers receive proper service even in farthest areas of country.
While major works in a car will still require that the customers visit the authorised service centres. With this new facility, small repairs can be handled on the location and even routine services such as oil change, brake pad replacement, air filter clean up/replacement, and oil filter change which are included under general service and maintenance can be handled at the doorstep of the customers. This refreshed version of doorstep service will be available for all Maruti Suzuki cars sold in India, right from the entry level model Alto 800 to the top of the line model S-Cross. This doorstep service facility will also be available for all variants of the models sold by the company including petrol, CNG, LPG and diesel powered cars. Specially designed and equipped Maruti service trucks will reach the customer's location for providing service and repairs. These trucks originally are the Suzuki Carry models, which is sold by the brand in India via its commercial vehicle dealership. Apart from stocking the necessary spares and tools required for routine service, the pick up truck will also host a jack that can lift up the vehicle for underbody inspection.
