Despite being the same size at 7-inches, the latest SmartPlay system comes with several new features.

Maruti Suzuki has silently updated the Swift hatchback and Ertiga MPV with the latest version of SmartPlay Studio system in the country. It has replaced the older SmartPlay system with the new touchscreen unit, which can be seen in some of the company's premium products such as Baleno and Ignis. Besides this update, there are no cosmetic and mechanical changes in both the models. Maruti Swift and Maruti Ertiga have been best-sellers in their respective segments from the past so many years and so this update is likely to accentuate the sales even more.

The latest SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system gets a smoother UI while the vehicle is on the move. It also comes with additional features such as image viewer and video player while the Smartphone can also be paired with the system through a dedicated SmartPlay Studio app which can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. This new feature enables the occupants to access navigation maps offline and get regular updates about news, sports and weather. In fact, the latest SmartPlay system facilitates the user to use the Smartphone as remote control for the infotainment system. The size of the infotainment unit remains the same at 7-inch while it is available only with the top-end ZXI+ grades of both Swift and Ertiga.

The 7-inch SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system with both Ertiga and Swift also boasts of Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity as standard. Now, only Ciaz mid-sized sedan and S-Cross crossover are bereft of the new SmartPlay Studio System in the Maruti Suzuki lineup as almost all the other vehicles have been equipped with the latest infotainment unit. Mechanically, the Swift and Ertiga are powered by BS6 compliant petrol engines while the diesel variants have been discontinued post the BS6 emissions norms implementation across the country from April 1, 2020. The duo is available with manual gearbox as standard while automatic transmissions are also on offer as optional.
